Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Racquet Stringing Machine Technical Supports

  1. How to replace the fuse?
  2. I have a drop-weight machine. The tensioning device does not hold the tension anymore. What is the problem?
  3. I have a Flex 940 stringing machine and the top wobbles a little bit when i use it. I was wondering if you could tell me how to fix this problem?
  4. I own a flex 920 stringing machine. I have forgotten to set the tension adjuster from 62 pounds back to zero quite a few times after I have finished stringing a racquet. Will this slip up effect the string tension of the racquets that I will string in the future? Will this accident effect the future string tension?
  5. After I first assmebled the stringing machine, the string gripper worked perfectly. But after I strung lots of racquets, the string keeps slipping through the string gripper sometimes. Could you tell me what I can do for it to not slip and let go of the string?
  6. I bought the machine for stringing badminton raquets. The problem is that the string gripper does not hold 0.70mm/22G badminton strings sometimes.
  7. I purchased a Flex 740 machine from you. The linear string gripper has been a little "sticky" or rough in its movement. It won't return all the way back to the open position so that I have to actually push it back and it doesn't always grab the string well enough (because it doesn't slide all the way closed).
  8. A couple of days ago I just received the machine. I just start using the machine. The string gripper does not grip the string, the string slips from the gripper once the machine is pulling! In other words, the String Gripper can not hold the string or do not grip the string strong enough and the string slips.
  9. I am having problems with the clamp base. The locks work on the bases but they slip under tension (I have tried many times to adjust and clean the clamps). Is there anything that I could have missed that will make the clamps lock again without slipping under tension?
  10. I have an Eagnas Flex 940 Stringing Machine. One of the swivel clamp base is not holding when pulling the string.

  1. I have a drop-weight machine. The tensioning device does not hold the tension anymore. What is the problem?

The spring inside the drum is broken. You need to replace the new spring.

  2. I have a Flex 940 stringing machine and the top wobbles a little bit when i use it. I was wondering if you could tell me how to fix this problem?

It looks like that the turntable base is loose. Please use the 6mm Allen wrench (hex wrench) to turn the locking screw clockwise to lock the turntable base to the supporting post. The locking screw is at the side of the turntable base.

  3. I own a flex 920 stringing machine. I have forgotten to set the tension adjuster from 62 pounds back to zero quite a few times after I have finished stringing a racquet. Will this slip up effect the string tension of the racquets that I will string in the future? Will this accident effect the future string tension?

Normally it will not generate any side effect. But if the tension head is constantly set at high tension, you will need to re-calibrate the tension head more often.

  4. After I first assmebled the stringing machine, the string gripper worked perfectly. But after I strung lots of racquets, the string keeps slipping through the string gripper sometimes. Could you tell me what I can do for it to not slip and let go of the string?

The string gripper was oily and there was wax built-up, that's why the string was slipping out.

    1. You can use a cotton-tipped applicator dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clean the string gripper.
    2. If the string gripper is too greasy, you can use a brush dampened with soap and water to clean the string gripper.
    3. If the string gripper has lots of wax built-up, you can use a knife to scrape the wax built-up out of the string gripper.
    4. Than use a nail filer or medium-grade sand paper to slide through over the string gripper surface to make the surface a little bit rough. This will increase the friction and increase the gripping power.

  5. I bought the machine for stringing badminton raquets. The problem is that the string gripper does not hold 0.70mm/22G badminton strings sometimes.

Yes, put some lubrication of the ball bearings (such as a light machine oil) to help string gripper move smoothly. But do not apply the lubrication on the gripping surface.

In other words, the String Gripper can not hold the string or do not grip the string strong enough and the string slips.

You need to use the left hand to hold the string at about a right angle to the string gripper. It means that you will need to pull the string toward your body, which is about 90 degee to the string gripper. This way the string gripper will hold the string and pull the string.

  8. I am having problems with the clamp base. The locks work on the bases but they slip under tension (I have tried many times to adjust and clean the clamps). Is there anything that I could have missed that will make the clamps lock again without slipping under tension?

You need to adjust the clamp base, not the clamp itself. Please view the Appendix D of the USER'S MANUAL for the adjustment procedure.

  9. I have an Eagnas Flex 940 Stringing Machine. One of the swivel clamp base is not holding when pulling the string.

There might be grease, wax and residual buildup on the bottom surface of the string clamp base. You need to clean up the clamp base. Please view the page 7 of the USER'S MANUAL for the procedure. After cleaning up, if you still have the clamp base problem, please check the handle and bolt of the clamp base. If the thread of the bolt was worn out, you will need to replace the bolt.
